To All Nations With You  .............

January started off with such hope for new things. I remember looking ahead with eager anticipation of new opportunities to take the Gospel, new missionaries going to the field and helping new leaders grow and become more focused in their leadership, and engaged in their relationships with those they lead. I was not disappointed! The biggest new thing was that the whole planet went into shutdown with a pandemic scare called COVID 19.

Just like everyone else, I started asking questions… Is this God punishing someone for something? How could God let this happen? Is this judgement on all of us somehow?  I was a little caught off guard by it all, and was trying to get into how God was thinking in this moment.
After spending some quit time just listening, studying and asking Him questions, I came to a conclusion… His ways are higher, better, purer and more founded on His love for his people. I don’t need to understand it all, I just need to trust in Him.

Throughout my life, I have faced moments that seemed like the end of life. Auto accidents, illness, getting arrested on foreign soil, a few airline flights that I thought would be my last breath on earth… Even so, I have never seen any of those moments as God using trauma to get my attention, or teach me a lesson. I have learned that no matter what happens to me or around me, whether it is God’s hand, the enemy’s weapon or the ignorance of man, that nothing is wasted.

God takes those moments and situations and redeems them so that I can grow in Him, and continue the process for transforming into His image.

So it is with this. So instead of trying to explain it all, or justify it on some spiritual level, I decided to ask… “Father, I seem to have some extra time on my hands, is there anything you want to teach me through this?”

Here is what I have learned so far.

God is a good Father. He gives his children good things. Even when things seem out of control or bad, He uses them to take us deeper. Romans 8:28 “So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.”

Become more intentional about stopping to observe, listen and learn as things transpire around me. It does not matter what caused it, what matters is what God will say to you in it and through it…

Be a purveyor of hope when the world seems hopeless. Encourage, uplift, and live your faith in front of believers and on-believers alike – Our hope is in HIM, and HIM alone.!!
Psalm 33:320 “The Lord alone is our radiant hope and we trust in him with all our hearts. His wrap-around presence will strengthen us.”

Do not live in fear. Fear expects calamity, faith expects solutions. 365 times in Scripture the Word says “fear not!” When the storms come, be steadfastly established on THE ROCK. Know that HE will see you, provide for you and through you, that the storms may beat against you, but you will not be shaken – you are built on the Rock – and not the sand…

Matthew 7:24 – 27
“Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. When the rains fell and the flood[a] came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation. But everyone who hears my teaching and does not apply it to his life can be compared to a foolish man who built his house on sand. When it rained and rained and the flood came, with wind and waves beating upon his house, it collapsed and was swept away.”

We have a secure future! Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

We are not finished! There are still those who have never heard the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Be encouraged my friends.
Nothing is wasted, nothing
of eternal importance is
lost, this is NOT our home,
we know where we are
headed. I can rest in that!
